If you are looking for more to your massage than a full body swedish massage, then a Sarah Hurst Skin & Beauty massage is just for you.   Sarah and Charly are  trained in Holistic Medical Massage through Jing advanced massage training, and therefore incorporates remedial techniques to reduce specific pain problems. We use a ‘listening touch’ and communication to help identify problem areas and then treat them using a variety of techniques including Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, hot and cold stones, deep tissue and stretching. The massage is performed slowly and deeply with intent, and working within your own tolerance levels.

Trigger Point Therapy

There is increasing evidence that trigger points can often be a cause of pain conditions, but what is a trigger point?  It is a knot within a muscle or the muscle fascia that causes a pain, often in a location away from the knot itself. By releasing these trigger points by combining massage therapy with stretching of the muscle, then we can help alleviate the body of many acute and chronic pain conditions.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is the soft tissue component of connective tissue.  This provides strength and support throughout the body, including muscles, and connects everything together throughout the body.  Through injury, pain, illness, trauma and overuse restrictions in the Fascia occur and through specific techniques these can be released to provide relief from acute and chronic pain.

Each treatment at Sarah Hurst Skin & Beauty is tailor made for the client and their needs at that time, even if you purely want to relax and have no pain to treat.

Hello Sarah.

It’s a miracle!! It’s the 21st April and this is the third day in weeks that I have not woken up with a headache or a twitchy eye. I’m so pleased! You may remember that I had neuralgia back in December which affected my left eye and the teeth in my lower jaw. Taking vitamin B helped a lot but I still had the twitchy eye, most of the time. Initially this even affected my vision. The dentist also found nothing wrong with my teeth and after three months I was thinking that I had a permanent problem with the nerves on the left side of my face. I recognize that I have a weakness on that side of my face (neuralgia flair-ups) but the massage work that you did on the front and back of my neck has made a huge difference. It’s a relief to know that your expertise has helped to prevent me from suffering prolonged discomfort, and will continue to be something that I look forward to. I was a shy, nervous and reluctant client to start with, but your support, caring nature and knowledgeable approach has made a big difference to my general well being.

A big ‘Thank you’!
— Stevie xx
